Immersion methodology
Natural/Direct Method
The Natural/Direct Method adapts to the tourism context by teaching vocabulary and everyday phrases that tourists use in real situations, such as making reservations or asking for information. This approach exclusively utilizes Spanish, facilitating comprehension through demonstrations and the inductive teaching of grammar using examples relevant to the tourism sector.
Audio-Lingual Method
The Audio-Lingual Method focuses on developing auditory and oral skills through the repetition of dialogues that reflect common situations in tourism, such as interactions in restaurants and hotels. The instructor guides students in the active practice of the language, enabling them to acquire the necessary vocabulary to navigate their environment confidently.
Communicative Method
The Communicative Method is oriented toward developing communicative competence in real tourism situations. It promotes interaction through simulations and group activities that require the use of Spanish, integrating personal experiences and emphasizing the sociocultural context of the destinations. Through the practice of the four linguistic skills—oral and written production and comprehension—students are effectively prepared to face real-world situations during their tourism experience in a Spanish-speaking environment.
These methods create relevant and effective learning, equipping students with the linguistic competencies necessary for interaction in tourism contexts.
